Nero 12 Weeks

We have had Nero for a couple of weeks now. It's been a lot of work, but he's giving us a lot of laughs along the way.

Nero!!

So we did it. We got a dog. As of the writing of this post this precious angel has peed on our floor twice. We can't blame him though cause we're still getting used to paying attention for the signals that he needs to go. He is a bull mastiff, Neapolitan mastiff, rottweiler mix and, as you've seen with the title of this post, we've stuck with the Roman Emperor naming conventions and named this little cutie Nero.

Pre-Posession Walkthrough

House will be finished in 3 days. This is our final walk-through before possession. Just a few finishing touches and fixes before it's handed over.

Unfortunately, the camera battery was dead. Only got 2 pictures before it croaked.

New Car!

Yes it's true, we sold the Mini!

Was time for something with a bit more cargo space, wanted to make sure it could handle trips to the mountains in the snow and maybe a canoe up top at some point.

Cabinets Installed

Dropped by tonight for a quick inspection of the cabinets. Guys were in the middle of spraying paint, so excuse the quality of some of the photos. There was a lot of dust and particulate in the air which the flash really picked up.

Hard to believe we have our final pre-possession inspection next week and the house will be just about complete. Only 2 weeks until we move!

Drywall Walkthrough

They have finished most of the dry-walling. They're sanding and getting ready to prime/texture everything.

House Update - Siding and Garage Pad

We took a drive to see the new house on this sunny Saturday afternoon in August. Contractors were busy inside finishing up the drywall before our next walk-through in a few days.

Siding is half done and they've poured the concrete pad for our garage. The front porch is also complete and they've laid the frame for our front walkway. We can't wait to see the inside with completed walls next week!

A Walk to Lake Summerside

Today Nate and I took a walk from our unfinished house to Lake Summerside to see how long it would take. It took 20 minutes walking at a "OMG IT'S TOO HOT TO BE OUT WALKING AND I NEED WATER!" pace.

First Walkthrough - Electrical is done

We had our first walkthrough/inspection today. Went really well, didn't find any issues to make note of, we also managed to get data ports in just about every room without having to pay extra!

House sure does feel tiny without any drywall up, should feel quite a bit different after the next stage.

MAXIMUS!!

WOOHOO! A ROOF!

We remembered our camera on our peek at the house today and good thing we did because the roof is done! I wanted to get closer pictures but a guy was working in a Bob Cat next door so we took pictures from across the street. Two and a half months to go and we should be living there!

A Quick Drive by

We took a quick drive by the house today and all the windows and doors are in! We (stupidly) forgot the camera) but there will be pictures the next time we go past!

Next weekend is Nate's birthday and the weekend following is my mom's birthday so updates with pictures maybe a little sparse.

It looks like a house!

As you can see from these pictures, our house is almost completely framed! The roof is still be completed and we didn't get any pictures of the back of the house because there were people working back there but the "house hole" finally looks like other houses! :D
